The Alliance Française in Reykjavík, the French Embassy in Iceland and Bíó Paradís present the 27th French Film Festival, which will take place from 23 January to 1 February 2026 at Bíó Paradís.

The French Film Festival is back ✨

The festival is being held for the 26th time by the French Embassy in Iceland, the Alliance Française in Reykjavík, and Bíó Paradís, and will run from 23 January to 1 February. The programme includes 10 French films showcasing the diversity of contemporary filmmaking in France, with several special guests: Isabelle Huppert, Marie Darrieussecq, and Rodolphe Tissot.

Events of the 2026 Film Festival

  • 23 January, 6:30 pm – “An Evening with Isabelle Huppert”: screening of La femme la plus riche du monde by Thierry Klifa, with Isabelle Huppert in attendance.24 January, 7:30 pm – Cine Pub Quiz hosted by Níels Girerd (with bottles of wine from Port9 and cosmetic samples as prizes).
  • 25 January, 3:00 pm – Screening of Maya by Michel Gondry, followed by afternoon tea offered by the French Embassy in Iceland.
  • 31 January, 4:30 pm – Screening of L’histoire de Souleymane, organised by the Alliance Française in Reykjavík Film Club, led by Margot, a teacher at the Alliance Française.
  • 31 January, 6:30 pm – “An Evening with Marie Darrieussecq and Rodolphe Tissot”: screening of Clèves (film adaptation), a reading from the novel Clèves in the presence of the author Marie Darrieussecq and the director Rodolphe Tissot, followed by a wine tasting and French products offered by Très Très Bon and Port9.
