The Alliance Française in Reykjavík, the French Embassy in Iceland and Bíó Paradís present the 27th French Film Festival, which will take place from 23 January to 1 February 2026 at Bíó Paradís.

The festival is being held for the 26th time by the French Embassy in Iceland, the Alliance Française in Reykjavík, and Bíó Paradís, and will run from 23 January to 1 February. The programme includes 10 French films showcasing the diversity of contemporary filmmaking in France, with several special guests: Isabelle Huppert, Marie Darrieussecq, and Rodolphe Tissot.

January 23 at 18:15: “Evening with Isabelle Huppert.” Screening of The Richest Woman in the World by Thierry Klifa in the presence of Isabelle Huppert.

January 24 at 15:00: Screening of Maya by Michel Gondry, with an afternoon reception offered by the French Embassy in Iceland.

January 25 at 18:40: Screening of The Stranger by François Ozon. Port9 will offer a wine tasting after the screening.

January 31 at 16:30: Screening of L’histoire de Souleymane, organized by the Program Directors’ Club of Alliance Française in Reykjavík, led by Margot, teacher at Alliance Française.

January 31 at 18:30: “Evening with Marie Darrieussecq and Rodolphe Tissot.” Screening of Clèves, film adaptation. Reading from the book Clèves in the presence of the author Marie Darrieussecq and director Rodolphe Tissot. Port9 will offer a wine tasting after the screening.

February 1 at 15:00: Screening of Maya with live Icelandic dubbing by actress Þórunn Lárusdóttir.

February 1 at 16:30: Closing screening of The Great Arch. A discussion on architecture will follow the screening and a tasting of Drappier champagne offered by Vínekran.
