Paris
Our stay will start with a two day visit to the most famous cultural and tourist sites of Paris. While some people will wish to discover the places, that one should not miss such as the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysées, the Louvre museum and the d´Orsay museum, others will risk “getting lost” in the narrow streets of the old parts of Paris. Whatever way each one decides to go, we shall meet on the evening before our departure for Brittany at a good Parisian restaurant.
Berder
After two days of a Parisian frenzy, we shall actually go to rejuvenate to the only private island in France, which is still open to the public. The only dwelling on the island is its “Manoir” or Manor House with a tower with a view of the Morbihan Gulf. The travellers from 66° North will have the privilege of staying there. On the programme there will be baithing in the sea, fishing, sailing, kayak, boat excursions around the islands of the Morbihan Gulf, music festival and a visit to prehistoric sites
Paimpol
On 24 June, the travellers from 66°North will take part in the departure of a boat race: Just as one century ago, over twenty sailboats will rush off towards the Icelandic coasts as a part of the third race called “les skippers d´Islande” (the skippers of Iceland), which was started in the year 2000. After having chosen their favorite boat and established ties with the families of the sailors, the travellers will return for two days more to the island of Berder, which has become familiar.
Paris
An extra stay of 24 hours in Paris will allow us to do our last shopping in the capital of luxury and fashion.
Reykjavik
We shall definately be back in Reykjavik in time to receive the “skippers d´Islande” and to participate in the big party of the sailors. We could also envisage a photo exhibition from our journey at the Alliance française
